Few disciplines have given my spiritual life as much lift as praying on the potter's wheel. God has met me here more profoundly and more consistently than any other place in my life. When the clay is centered and my hands are engaged, I find my heart is most open to receiving from Christ.
Lately, my morning routine has been throwing communion cups off the hump. I love throwing off the hump! I'll put on music or Scripture or a timer for prayer and just get happy. The sun comes up and shines into the garage and I leave knowing that I'm not alone when I face the hard things life brings.
