The 7 Steps to Throwing A Cylinder on the Potter's Wheel

I re-learned to throw from Simon Leach, after taking a long break from ceramics. His 7 steps to throwing a cylinder was SO helpful to me and my kids as we began making pottery and building our studio 3 years ago. Thank you Simon for teaching us and thank you for watching!

So what are the 7 steps?

1. Cone

2. Center

3. Hole

4. Flatten the Base

5. Collar the Neck

6. Pull up and in

7. Pull it up tall
